Tauhara College

Library - Learning Hub

Our Library is well stocked for students to find information for research or an adventure for them to read. We have over 9000 books and encourage students and staff to utilise this facility. For further research purposes the reference room has encyclopaedias, newspapers, reference books, magazines, periodicals and a vertical file, in which current and relevant newspaper and magazine articles are filed. The library computer pod is constantly in class use, as well as a place for seniors to study. The fiction area is used daily as a place to find that special book, within which one can dream and get lost in the written adventures found inside the covers.

We can also entice the reluctant reader with Short Stories, Graphic Novels, Quick Reads, Picture Books, Extra Large Books, and the forever in use old favourites – Guinness World Records. Displays are changed regularly, especially following the current topics being taught in the English Department. New book covers are also on eye catching display. Classes use the library to watch topic relevant DVDs and/or Videos.

Our Library is a warm inviting place for friends to gather to read, quietly chat with friends, study or play a board or computer game on their own ipads.
