Tauhara College promotes healthy student involvement and standards around sport. It intends to build a base of skills and patterns of play to give students the ability to progress to high levels in their sport. It promotes fair play, high standards around school involvement that will maintain positive parent and onlooker support. The team ethics and pride will fit in to the Tauhara College culture of courtesy, respect and doing your best.
We want to build the all round person, achieving academically to potential, fine sports people with good all round attitudes to life, society and other people.
In 2009 Tauhara College had a culture of success, with all rugby teams being promoted to higher grades from their divisions and completing every game. Our students represented their college with pride and distinction.
This will be the way of the future and this academy will promote and support this concept, while developing good players - of benefit to the rugby code.
To build on this in 2010 Tauhara College intends to offer the following opportunities:
Þ SENIOR RUGBY ACADEMY (this will exist around the school 1st XV)
Þ JUNIOR RUGBY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
